IIT TECHFEST EMPOWERS
From December 27-29, 2023, IIT Bombay will host the 27th edition of Asia’s largest science and technology festival, Techfest 2023-2024. The annual Science and Technology Festival at IIT Bombay is spearheaded by students; a dedicated team has been working tirelessly over the past few months to ensure that this year’s Techfest promises to be an unforgettable experience, where the interplay between Magic, Science, and technology will take centre stage for a journey into The Mystical realm. The event will explore a limitless spectrum of imagination and inventiveness in a Techno-Mystical extravaganza, ranging from ancient mysticism to cutting-edge advancements.
Techfest 2023-24 will also host multiple competitions including Cosmoclench, Meshmerize, Techfest Olympiad, Codecode, and more.
Since its start in 1998, Techfest has set a precedent for completing enormous accomplishments with unprecedented statistics. In terms of content, infrastructure, and logistics, Techfest has increased in prominence. Our goal has become a technical extravaganza thanks to an overwhelming throng of such scale and a world-class technological show, as well as a sense of delight.
Techfest has continuously raised the bar for information exchange, setting new benchmarks in the sphere of innovation throughout its long history. The 27th edition of Asia’s Largest Science and Technology Festival features keynote talks from speakers such as Shri. Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio, and Shri. S. Somanath, Chairman of ISRO.
ISRO
Shri. Somanath, a pathfinder and aerospace engineer, has been instrumental in propelling India’s space exploration efforts. He oversaw the successful launching of numerous satellites, including Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1, putting India on the map of spacefaring nations. Come hear him talk on his journey, views, and the future of Indian space technology at Techfest, IIT Bombay.
In the Lectures lineup of Techfest, we have Harshbir Sangha, the Missions and Capabilities Delivery Director at the UK Space Agency.
He was the Head of the UK Government’s International Research and Innovation Strategy before joining the UK Space Agency. In 2016, he was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire), and he is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce (RSA). You may meet him at Techfest at IIT Bombay.
Prof. Dr. Albert De Roeck, co-author of over 2000 scholarly articles with an H-index of over 200, is in the Techfest Lecture Series roster. He is a senior research scientist and member of the CERN team in Switzerland, the world’s biggest particle physics laboratory.
In 2017, he was appointed as the chief of CERN’s neutrino physics group, and he is currently an active participant in the DUNE and ICARUS investigations in the United States, as well as the T2K experiment in Japan. Prepare to be educated by his comments at IIT Bombay’s Techfest.

Exhibition
Magnecko is the first exhibit that Techfest is happy to unveil. A climbing robot capable of reaching astonishing heights. The robot, developed by ETH Zurich, is inspired by gecko abilities and has been particularly intended to do inspections on machinery or high-rise metal structures, jobs that are tough for people and even other machines.
